CBD use in on the rise and people want to know more! So, what’s the deal with CBD for pain management?

People are using CBD for a variety of ailments. Many are finding it especially helpful for muscle and joint pain, and inflammation. Aside from that, there are claims it can help with anxiety or improve sleep although evidence is still lacking.

The number of CBD products on the market is growing, rapidly. We thought it better to offer patients looking for relief from muscle and joint pain a high-quality CBD rather than a product with ingredients that aren’t from natural, quality sources. We did some research and identified a professional-grade CBD free from parabens, toxins, and synthetic chemicals!

How does CBD work?

Simply put, CBD can help the body maintain homeostasis (balance) of the endocannabinoid system (ECS) by promoting communication among various cell types. What’s the ECS, you ask? The ECS was discovered in the 1990s.  Researchers were studying THC, a well know cannabinoid. An article on Pub Med describes the endocannabinoid system:

“The endogenous cannabinoid system—named for the plant that led to its discovery—is one of the most important physiologic systems involved in establishing and maintaining human health. Endocannabinoids and their receptors are found throughout the body: in the brain, organs, connective tissues, glands, and immune cells. With its complex actions in our immune system, nervous system, and virtually all of the body’s organs, the endocannabinoids are literally a bridge between body and mind”(1).

Benefits of CBD

Since CBD may help with pain management, it’s worth a try. Many of our patients tell us it works to alleviate pain and has improved their quality of life! At Moramarco Chiropractic we recommend FDA registered CBD CLINIC™ CBD products. Their CBD is offered on a five-level system so you can choose the best product for your needs.  So far, our patients who have tried it are impressed!

Level 5 is the strongest product, with the highest concentration of ingredients, and it’s proven to be popular! Both levels 4 & 5 are oil-based and contain the highest amount of menthol and camphor allowed (think Vicks® VapoRub™) without a prescription. If you aren’t a fan of that scent  look to the level 1, 2 or 3  since the CBD products at those levels are water- rather than oil-based:

Level 1 – mild pain, odor-free, 4% Lidocaine

Level 2 – mild to moderate pain, 3% camphor with Arnica

Level 3  – moderate pain, 4% menthol

CBD CLINIC™ products are hemp-based, non-psychoactive, and THC free. This translates to safety and allows users to avoid worry about side effects or addiction. If you’re in pain or experiencing other symptoms that may potentially be reduced or alleviated by CBD, then you may want to give it a try.

The next time you’re in for an adjustment, ask Dr. Marc or Pattie for a sample. Our patients who’ve previously used CBD tell us they find it more effective for pain than other brands they’ve tried!

We are stocking Level 5 CBD ointment jars at our Woburn chiropractic office. If you think you’d like to try another level, or another delivery system, such as a stick or oil, please let us know. CBD CLINIC™ offers a drop-ship program, so whatever level or product you want, we can arrange to have it delivered right to your door!
